Hello I hope you are having a wonderful week.  I am a bit sad as my two weeks off is quickly coming to an end.  It has been so  wonderfully relaxing to stay home and veg out.  I have been having a blast doing the countdown challenges for StampTV and creating a huge mess in my stamp room.  I need to clean it up again.  Anyway on to the card I have to show you today.  I mad this for the countdown challenge on StampTV to make a project using the waxed cuttlebug background.  This is a fun technique and I love how it comes out.  I also am entering this in for the sketch this week for Card Patterns. I love this sketch, well I love most all of thier sketches I just don't get around to doing as many as I would like.  I aim to do more in the new year.  Thank you for stopping by.

A Beautiful View

This first card is one I made for the second day of countdowns over on StampTV.  The challenge is faux window.  I also in entering it in the challenge for Stamptaculaar Sunday Challenge.  Stamptacular's challenge this week is to have a tree on it.  It was pretty simple to put this card together and I love how it turned out.  I usually don't love my card but every once in a while I do.  I have been told I am way too critical of my own work.  I am working on that, maybe that will be my New Years resolution?

On th my next card.

This one I made for the first day of countdown challenges on StampTV. The challenge is split negative.  I am also entering this on into the challenge for Stampin' B's.  Their challenge this week is to use ribbon without a bow or a knot.

And finally I have a gift card holder I made today.  I was working on a card for a challenge (that I hope to finish tomorrow) today when my son came in and tells me that his girlfriend is on her way over.  No bigger right? Wrong she has family coming in town today and doesn't know when she would be able to get with us to exchange gifts so.... they decide we should do it today.  I thought I had still some time to get the holder for her gift card made and now I have about 15 minutes!  Yikes!  So I pushed everything aside and whipped this little holder in time.  So are you ready to see it?

Not too bad huh?  I did have the bow tried much better, but in my hurry to finish I realized that I forgot to sign the inside.  I had already trimmed the ribbon ends, dang.  So I had to open it, sign and re-tie it and then it didn't come out as good.

I hope to have a post tomorrow, but in case I don't I wish you a very Happy Holiday!!!

Brenda

Stocking Gift Card Holder

In my surfing around the through my favorite blogs someone posted the cutest stocking gift card holder.  I wish I could remember who, but you can find the free pattern HERE.  The gift card slips in under the stocking top in a little pocket. This was very easy to put together.  The paper is from The Girls Paperie, the sentiment form Gina K Designs.  I am submitting this for the challenge for Stamp Something - tag or pocket somethings.  Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you

Hello everyone.  Well I am in the count down tow more days and I am off for two weeks!!! I can hardly wait.  I needed a thank you card for work so I whipped this one up last night.  It uses the sketch this week on StampTV.  I used A Year of Borders from Gina K Designs and illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.  Those of you who read my blog regularly already know that I am huge fan of Melanie's.  She is so fabulous talented and more than that she is a sweet, sweet lady.  Each month I look forward to seeing what beautifully illustrated set Melanie has.  The poinsettias are colored with copics and liquid pearls for the centers.  The DP is Basic Grey Jovial.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot, Happy New Year

This week the challenge for The Cuttlebug Spot is Happy New Year... Celebrate 2011.  I decided to go with a CAS card.  If you are like me this is a very busy time of the year and if like me you didn't to make your holiday cards during the summer you may be in need of a quick card.  I used a new to me embossing folder called scrollwork.  This is a great folder for having a sentiment be a focal point.  The sentiment is computer generated. The card base is white and it is hard to tell in the photo the navy is mated on a layer of silver.  This card can easily be made in five minutes.

I hope you can play along with our challenge this week.  Now head over to The Cuttlebug Spot and check out the wonderful festive projects from the rest of the design team.  We will be taking the next two weeks off and will be back on January 4th with a new challenge.  I am thrilled to say I was ask to stay on for another three month term.  So I will be back in January as well.  Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you

Hello everyone I hope all is well with you and your families. How are you doing with your Christmas shopping and those cards.  I am doing good in the present department, but falling behind on the cards.  My goal for today it to finish them up so I can get back to decorating my house and wrapping.  Only five more days of work and then I get two weeks off, I can hardly wait.

So enough about me and on to what you are here for.  I made this card  for Speedy The Cat's challenge on Mark's Finest Papers.  The challenge this week is paper piecing.  I went straight to my favorite stamp to paper piece.  The dress is from a set from Gina K Designs called Retro Boutique. Those of you that know me know that I rarely make a card for just one challenge and this card is no different I also used the sketch from MoJo Monday.  The sketch ends today and I am just getting it in under the wire.

I need to get back to stamping, I think it is time for some mass production.  Thank you for stopping by and don't forget I will have a new card for The Cuttlebug Spot on Tuesday.

Christmas Tag

Last January I was the guess designer for Melanie Muenchinger using her set Square Pegs. A few weeks ago Melanie emailed and ask if I would be interested in showing a project using that set.  Well I didn't have to think very hard of course I would.  I made this tag for my blog and it is super fast ans simple to make you could easily make a bunch in a short amount of time and lets face it who can't use some fast projects.  to make the yo yo I used s short piece of double stitched ribbon and on side I used the thread from the stitching to pull and gather the ribbon and then glued it to a small circle of card stock. Square Pegs is a great set full of images for many holidays and occasions through out the year, I had a lot of fun playing with it as her guest designer.
Thank you Melanie for the opportunity to showcase Square Pegs again.

I have a card on Melanie's blog so please head over there and take a look.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot Favorite Embossing Technique

After having the last two weeks off we are back this week with a new challenge for The Cuttlebug Spot.  The challenge is to use your favorite embossing technique.  I choose as a favorite (and it was hard as there are so many techniques that I love) partial cuttlebug embossing.  I used a new Basic Grey embossing folder by Sizzix called snow globe.  I turned the folder sidways and embossed the top.  I then stamped the sentiment using a stamp positioner.  To get the embossed lines I lightly embossed on the top using my Scor Buddy and then turned over the card stock and lined the embossed line up with one of the grooves in the Scor Buddy and this time scored normally.  The final step was to emboss the small section on the bottom and I again put the folder on the side.  I really wanted a clean and simple card and this is it.   I matted the embossed layer on gold and black with a base of white.  I could re create this card in about 5 minutes.

Make sure you check out the rest of the design team at The Cuttlebug Spot, they are so amazingly talented.   Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a chance to play along.

Joy

I haven't posted in over a week!  I am sorry, life has been super busy with work and the holidays.  I did get some stamp in this weekend in between decorating the house.  I still have some more decorating to do, but a girl needs to have some time with her stamps, kwim.   This is a card I made for Tins' challenge from the release for Gina K Designs.  The challenge was to use 12 embellishments on a card.  Wow that was a tough one for me.   I am not to happy with the blue dew drops, the color doesn't seem right and I wish now that I had used silver brads. It is late here and I have to get up early so I will keep this short.  I will be back late Monday or early Tuesday with a card for The Cuttlebug Spot.  We are back from our little break with a new challenge, so look for that.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the Holiday Season.

Warm Winter Wishes

I am back with a  second post to show you the card I made for the sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You.  I also in entering it in Simon Says Challenge, "Let it Snow" and Stampin B's  to make a holiday card.  I used this cute Penny Black stamp and colored with copics.  I used fun flock on her hat and coat.  The snow was made by rubbing to styrofoam pieces together and using the shavings.  It works great and is cheap and easy, but it is a bit messy. Have a wonderful Sunday and thank you for stopping by.

Very Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I know it seems a bit strange to post a Christmas card on Thanksgiving, but I moved on to Christmas about two weeks ago and frankly I am so enjoying Christmas already.

This is my first time making a card for Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger.  When I saw the inspiration piece this week I had to make a card.  I always want to join in on the fun, but time seems to always be too short.  As soon as I saw the delicious gingerbread snowflake  this card came to mind and I whipped it up.  It was super fast to put together. I also worked in to other challenges which wasn't to hard considering that Stampin B's challenges is to add a snowflake, got it!  The third challenges is from Simon Says and their theme is Let it Snow, how much easier can it get?  I hope you are enjoying your day with family and friends and lots of good food.  Thank you for stopping by.
