Wishes For a Winter Wonderland

Hello I hope everyone on that was in the path of Hurricane Sandy has survived safely and without any damage.  What a nasty storm.  I have been keeping an eye on the tv and I am shocked by all of the devastation.  I will take my California earthquakes before a hurricane or tornado any day.

I want to thank you for all of the kind words about my latest design team position.  I have been having fun the last couple of days coloring up some images for the upcoming release.  I just need to make them into cards now.

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the challenge this week at The Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge.  This week we are challenging you to make it pop.  You can pop an image or a pop up card and make sure you have a greeting on the front.  You ca get all the details here and also see the gorgeous cards from my teamies.
Here is my card.
The image is Let it Snow from Whimsy Stamps and the sentiment is a digital one also from Whimsy.  I colored it up with copics and added some stickles to the snow and snowflakes.  The paper is My Minds Eye Be Merry collection.  I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I love those sketches and this was a nice one to work with.  I hope you can join us at The Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge this week.  We have three great sponsors this month!! So you have a chance at winning some cool prizes.  Thank you for stopping by.

Some Me Some Bling!

Hello I am hosting the Free For All Friday challenge on StampTV this week.  For my challenge I would like to see some bling, sparkle or glitter on your project.  It can be something as simple as adding some pearls like I did or you can go over the top and really glam it up!  Most important is I want you to have fun!!  Here is my sample.
I used Merry Tree stamped with Memento rose bud and then cut out with a spellbinders die.  Before removing the image from the die I sponged some angel pink around the outside edges.  The patterned paper is My Minds Eye Be Merry.  The card base is Pure Luxury base weight Ivory.  The patterned paper is matted on Pure Luxury Lipstick Red.  I finished up with some silk ribbon and a pearl flourish.
I hope you can join me and play along with my challenge, I would love to see your creations.  You can find the challenge here at StampTV.  Thank you for stopping by.

CSS Alumni October Blog Hop

Hello it is time for this months StampTV CSS blog hop.  This month Melissa provided us with this wonderful sketch to use.
You should have arrived here from the beautiful and incredibly talented Betty.  If you get lost along the way you can get the complete list of hop participants here at StampTV.
I loved this sketch and got a little carried away.  I made four cards!  I was on a roll and if time would have allowed I would have made at least one that I had in mind.
I used Penguin Joy and Blizzard patterned paper for this one.  I colored the penguin with copics and sponged with memento ink.

For this one I used Merry Tree and Blizzard patterned paper.

For this one I used one of my very first sets Winter Foliage and The Magic of Christmas with Basic Greys Aspen Frost for the patterned paper.  I used copics to color and sponged with memento ink.

Finally I created this one using Whimsical Wishes.  I am also entering this into Gina's release challenge to use only a sentiment.  All stamps used on these cards can be found in the Gina K Designs online store.

Okay thank you for sticking with me.  Your next stop is the gorgeous and amazingly talented Cheri.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (October 30), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!  Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Birthday

Hello today I have a card I made for the Free For All Challenge on StampTV.  My friend Miesje is hosting the challenge this week.  Miesje's challenge is to use an image stamp to create a background and have the sentiment be the focal point.
To create the background I used three different blue watercolors and swiped them across the paper.  I was careful and was very quick with it.  It is super easy.  Then I took the butterfly stamp from A Year Of Borders form Gina K Designs and illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger and stamped it on the background paper.  This is a small 4 1/4 square note card.  Thank you for stopping by.

Merry and Bright

Hello it is time for another challenge at the Greeting Card Challenge at The Outlawz.  This week the challenge it Trick or Treat. Which is to show a trick you use in card making and it will be a treat for the rest of us.

Here is my card.
My trick is an easy way to make a corner bow.  It is something I learned from my sister Theresa Momber.

I used poinsettia and Pine form Flourishes and colored it with copics.  I will also be entering this card into Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge to Think Pink,  Copic Oz's challenge to make a Pink Project and use copics and finally Ooazk's challenge to use a die cut.

Here is a little tutorial on how I make my corner bows.

I start with an ink pad and tie and bow around it.

Depending on where you want to place it on your card if you use the short side or the long side. The next step is to cut the bow off of the ink pad.  Don't be afraid, but remember after you cut it you will not be able to re work the bow so make sure you have the bow the way you want it before you cut.  Dont' ask how I know this.  You will be left with a bow that looks like this.
Notice I have long tails.  I like to have plenty of ribbon to allow for me to cut the ends to the length I want when my card it finished.  Cutting the ends is the last thing I do when making a card.  To attach the bow to the card I use scor tape and using the back ribbon lengths I glue them down.  It looks like this.
So that is my trick. Well it is my sisters trick, but one I use all the time and has been very helpful.

I hope you can play along with us this week at The Greetings Card Challenge.  We have three wonderful sponsors this month so you have a chance at winning some fab goodies, see below.  And don't forget to check out the rest of the design teams cards.  Thank you for stopping by.

Hazel

Hello it is Friday!!!  Today I have a card I made for Crafty Friends Challenges.  The challenge is Halloween.  Next to Christmas/winter cards Halloween are my favorite to make.

When Whimsy Stamps released this stamp I knew I had to have it.  Isn't she cute?  I colored her with copics.  The paper is Basic Grey Erie.  I added a bit of tulle, a button and some twine to finish off the card.  I started with white card stock and after stamping I sponged with Memento Gray Flannel.  I like the way it softened the white and helped to tie in better with the patterned paper.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

You are Strong and Beautiful

Hello, I am here to with my card for The Outlawz Greeting Card challenge.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month so this week our theme is Breast Cancer Awareness.  Sadly way too many people are effected by breast cancer each year and many know someone effected by it.  So we are challenging you to show us your creations with a breast cancer awareness theme.  Don't forget to include a sentiment on the front.

Here is my card.

I used Hope and Strength from Gina K Designs.  This is such a great set for this challenge.  Now please excuse the fact that the sentiment is not straight.  I had the card completed and when I was editing it I noticed it, oops.  I hope you can play along this week and month as we have three great sponsors this month.  Please check out the rest of the design team as they have way out done themselves this week.

My friend Linda Payne is hosting Friday's  Free For All  challenge over at StampTV.  Linda's challenge is Flowers.  I will be entering this card into Linda's challenge.  You can check it out here.  There is a chance to win some Gina K Design goodies.

Thank you for stopping by.

So Grateful

Hello and Happy Monday!  I have a super quick post to show you a card I made for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge.  The challenge is Fall Theme and the it ends in just a couple of hours.

I used Flourishes Autumn Blossoms for my card.  The paper is Basic Grey's Curio.  I colored with copics and thought that the card didn't need any embellishments so I left it only.  It will be great for mailing.  Thank you for stopping by.
