Friend

Today Gina posted the first challenge on Stamp TV. The challenge was to make a card using to make a card using the "thumping technique" that she showed in her video. I had a little bit of trouble with this one as I only have one solid image GKD stamp, one of the tees from Little Tees, and I just couldn't get anything to work with it. So I decided to try it with a line image stamp. I like how it turned out. The flower is from A Year of Flowers and the sentiment is from Botanical Dreams. To make the frame for the oval I punched out two swirl punches and then glued them down, most of the swirl is on the back of the oval. I got this idea from my sister, Theresa. The patterned paper is from Floral Frenzy which is a download from Gina K Designs. I don't have the greatest water based markers for doing this, but that will not be a problem much longer as I won at set of the new Memento markers from Gina's blog last week and they will be here soon. Thank you so much Gina you are awesome.
Thank you for stopping by.

Hooty

This is a quick card I made this morning for Joanne's challenge this week to "Get Inky". The challenge was to ink up one of your newest stamps or one that you have had for a long time. I haven't bought any new Gina K Designs stamps for a few months, but I did borrow this set from my mom about a month ago and stamped a bunch of images and I haven't used but a couple of them. Anyway I hope this qualifies being as it has been hanging around waiting for me to so it some love. The owl is from Framed Friends from Gina K Designs and designed by Asela Hopkins. I colored him with copic markers and matted on kraft, then on a layer of chocolate chip that is embossed with swiss dots. The card base is kraft and the ribbon is some of the dollar ribbon I bought at Micheal's a long time ago.

One more thing. Have you been over to Stamp TV? If not head over and check it out, it is awesome, Gina is doing videos and selling kits that have everything you need to make the cards she doing in the videos. So go take a look and while your there sign up and I would love to be your friend and chat with you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Top Note Quilt

I got in some new goodies today from my last Stampin' Up order. I finally broke down and bought the top note die, and I am so glad I did, love it!

I was lucky today and spent the day stamping and visiting with a friend (Hi Jackie) and I had a blast. I didn't get a lot done, but that is just fine we had fun talking and going to lunch and I squeezed in a bit of stamping and made this card.

So on to my card, I got the idea from Diane from Stamping with Di to make a quilt and then cut it out with the die. Diane did a wonderful tutorial on it here. I used Delicate Dots from the Sale-A-Bration catalog to make the quilt pieces, I used a 1" square punch as I didn't have a 1 1/4" like Diane used so I needed to add a extra roll of squares to the top and side, I also needed to make the white base 4" x 5". The card base is bashful blue that I stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds in bashful blue. I sponged the "quilt" with bashful blue . The medallion is from Figures of Speech (retired). The layers of the medallion are so saffron, bashful blue and certainly celery. This card is an all Stampin' Up card except the little bit of coloring on the baby. I also made this card for two challenges on SCS, Thursdays ways to use it (WT206) and today's limited supplies (LSC208).

Simplicity Bookmark

I made this card/bookmark fro Jeanne's Hip Hop challenge to make a card using an Unity floral stamp. I made the bookmark and then was playing around trying to make it work with yesterday's SCS sketch challenge. It wasn't working and the chocolate chip layer is a scrap from making the circles that was laying on my table when an idea hit. This is the end result.

Happy stamping!!

Under the Big Top

This is a card I made for a copic color challenge. This week was to use B28 (royal blue), YR 07 (cadmium orange) and V 06 (lavender). I don't have B 28 so I used B 29. The first thing I thought of when I read the challenge was there were primary colors and that it would be a good combo for a kid card. Then I remember that I had a thought the other day to make a circus card using the elephant for Whatever Floats your Boat from Gina K Designs. The card base is bashful blue, the designer paper is retired jersey shore from Stampin' Up, the mats are wild wasabi and brilliant blue. A fun card to make, thanks fro stopping by.

A Krafty Rose

Today's featured stamper is Julie (Juliemlacey), Julie has a beautiful gallery. I choose this card to be inspired by. So here is what I changed.

1. I used temping turquoise instead of baja breeze.
2. I used different designer paper, I used retired bali breeze.
3. I don't have any of the new corduroy brads so I use some turquoise rhinestones.
4. I used a different stamp
5. I only used one ribbon on top of a strip of kraft paper.
6. Finally I added one more row of piercing on the bottom.

This is also my second card for Joanne's "Get Krafty" challenge.

Thank you for stopping by.

Cool Beans

I have been loving the weekly challenges Joanne has on SCS. This week the challenge was to Get Krafty". Sounded like a fun one to me, but I don't use kraft paper much and I found it to be harder than I thought. In the end though I am happy with the results, and my husband liked it so if nothing else it will be a great guy card. I used My Cuppa Joe and the little sentiment on the bag came from Retro Boutique both from Gina K. Designs. The image is colored with copic markers, the background was ran through the cuttlebug and then sponged with close to cocoa ink. Sorry the photo isn't the greatest it is night here and the weather has been terrible during the day so I am not sure I could have gotten a better picture even in the daylight. Thanks for stopping by.

Okay so this is my next card for one of the ambassador challenges for My Favorite Things. This one was to make a treat package with a hear theme. I made mine a pizza box. A very basic box I found the directions on SCS. The colors are pretty in pink chocolate chip and rose red with some more Basic Grey bittersweet paper. I use How Sweet it is from My Favorite Things. Image is colored with copic markers. Thank for stopping by.

Here is the scoop......

This is my entry for the Ambassador 2 challenge for My Favorite Things. The challenge was to make a card that uses masking. I just bought a few MFT sets so I had to get them inky. This was a super simple card, I stamped a few of the scoops from Here's the Scoop on some scrap paper and then cut them out. Then on my card stock I stamped the top image and after it dried I cover it with the "scrap scoop"and stamped the next image, I did this one more time and the stamped the cone. The ice cream is colored with copic markers. The card base is blush blossom with a rose red mat and then a layer of basic grey bittersweet paper. The ice cream is matted with blush blossom and chocolate chip. Finally I cut two strips of card stock and scalloped the edge and topped it with some poly twill chocolate chip ribbon. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Gina

This is my second post today so be sure to scroll down to see the the other one.

In case you haven't heard Gina's birthday is coming up and Joanne's challenge on SCS for this week is to make a birthday card for her and mail it to her, this is my card for Gina. I seem to be hung up on the rose from Melanie Muenchinger's set A Year of Flowers. I love coloring them with copics.

About the card the rose is colored with copics and then cut out. After cutting out the white layer with Label 1 nestabilities I left it in the die and sponged with so saffron, the mat is certainly celery and lightly sponged with certainly celery ink. the sentiment is form Stampin' Up's retired set Best Yet. I used a little ruby red in the layers to balance the red from the rose.

Titled Unity butterfly

My sister posted her first tutorial for SCS yesterday (way to go Theresa). It was for a crimped envelope card. So I had to give it a try, and then today Jeanne posted a challenge for Unity's Hip Hop to make a card with a tilted image. That is an easy one for me I love to tilt images. Also today's SCS Ways to Use it challenge was to make a card with layered embellishments and that sounded fun, so I put them all in to one card. I had a lot of fun with this one. I used a white A2 envelope, I sponged the front with lavender lace and the edges with perfect plum. The background flower is stamped in lavender lace and the butterfly is colored with copics the cut out and then clear embossed.

One little piece of advise be careful not to get ink on the back of your envelope, not an easy thing for me when I am sponging. I have to confess I get ink everywhere when I stamp.

Look Ma No Stamps?

This is the first card I have made in a very long time that I didn't use any stamps! I always have a had hard time making guy cards, but this one was a piece of cake. A friend of ours turned 50 yesterday and bought a new Harley last month, so I had to do a Harley card.

Super simple I used some Harley Davidson flame paper by EK Success for the front, the sticker is also by EK Success. For the inside I cut out the Harley Davidson symbol out of the paper and on the computer I printed up the greeting. The greeting says, Happy birthday you old HAWG!!

Tailored Orchid

Another challenge card, this one for Joanne's challenge on SCS to create a card using a tailored bow. I had some trouble with the bow, I guess there is a reason that I have never used them before. I would have helped if I had the right color ribbon on hand, but I didn't so I use white. That is the thing I love about challenges it makes me work out of my comfort zone. Thank you for stopping by.
