Guiding Light

This is my card for Donna's sketch challenge and for Cindy's color challenge over on StampTV. I love combining challenges. I used my new stamp set from Gina K Designs called Guiding Light designed by Rupa Shevde. I wanted to use a saior's knot so I did a search and found instructions and it was easy. The charm is from Bits and Bubbles I bought at Michaels and attached with a jump ring.

Friends are like flowers

This is a quick card I made for Cammie's challenge over on SCS in the Gina K Designs forum. The challenge is to use the same stamp for the main image and the background. I wanted a soft look to the background and unfortunately it didn't photograph well. I used memento markers to colors the stamp and then stamped three times to get my focal image. the background is stamped with lavender lace stamped off on scratch paper and then on the lavender lace paper. The card base is always artichoke. Thank you for stopping by.

No I didn't drop off the face of the Earth

Just a quick note to say that I haven't posted anything because my husband and I decided at the last minute to take a weekend trip. I went to she my mom and sister and go kayaking. We had a blast and got a little sun. I am home now and am planning on do a some stamping as there are several Gina K designs challenges and I love those. As soon as I have something I will post.
Also did you notice I added a signature and my template. What do you think?

3D Treat Purse

This month Donna's 3D challenge on StampTV is to make a treat purse. I wanted to make one for May Day, I remember as a kid making May Day treats and flowers for my Mom and that is what inspired me on this project. The purse and matching note card are almost amethyst, the so saffron background is sponged on a cut out of Lable One nestabilities. The flower is from A Year of Flowers from Gina K Designs and illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger. I colored the gerber daisy with copics. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you had a great weekend and her is to a happy Monday.

Glittery Bold Flowers

So Lee posted Friday's challenge on StampTV to make a card using glitter, lots of glitter. I am a bit glitter challenged, but I remembered that I had some glitter paper in my stash and that got the wheels turning. This is what I came up with, and it is also for Theresa's color challenge from earlier in the week of orange and yellow with an option of red!! Can you believe those colors? Now Theresa's sample is beautiful, but hard colors and glitter made this a huge challenge for me and I sure is why I don't like this card. Anywho on to the card, I used some Basic Grey DP and pumpkin pie card stock. The glitter paper is an old DCWV fall glitter stack. I used Bold Flowers from Gina K Designs for the center flower and then the rest of the flowers are punched out of the glitter paper. Thanks for stopping by.

Saturday's Inspiration challenge was posted early so I took a look and was instantly inspired. This is the candle I used for my inspiration. The stamps I used are elegant flowers and autumn whimsy both from Gina K Designs. The card base is old olive and the DP is retired Stampin' Up bali breeze. The mat is some silvery velumm from my stash. The ink and ribbon are always artichoke. Thanks for stopping by.

Sunrise Sketch

Jessica is hosting this weeks sketch on StampTV, and this is my card for it. Last night Gina posted that some tutorials had been added to StampTV and the top one was my sister Theresa's Bright Spring Morning tutorial she posted last weekend. I decided to use Theresa's tutorial and Jessica's sketch for my card. I didn't want to do a complete case of Theresa's card so I changed the stamps. I have to admit that my card pales in comparison to Theresa's (I have seen hers in person, she was here visiting last weekend) it is so much more beautiful in person. Thanks of stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Best Fishes

I had a great time with this card even though it took me hours to complete!! I got the idea for the pothole in the middle of the night and could hardly sleep after that. I wanted to use Cat's sketch from StampTV on this card also, in all of my fiddling to get it right I got a little off on the sketch I hope it is okay. So about the card the porthole is cut using circle nestabilities out of a copper sheet and then I added copper colored brads, to give it a more real look I distressed it and smeared stazon black ink on it. The blue is some patterned paper from my stash. For the ocean floor I stamped the seaweed and embossed it then I colored it and inked over it with a versamark pen and then embossed again. After finishing that I sponged so saffron and creamy caramel. This is called emboss resist and it is Gina's challenge this week on StampTV. The stamp set is Best Fishes from Gina K Designs.

Mary
has some great blog candy she is giving away, so head over and good luck!!

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

MFT Your Blog Rocks!

So have you been following the MFT Idol challenge on SCS? There have been so many wonderful projects!! As a reward for all of the hard work MFT gave all the contests the week off and then issued a challenge for the judges. This is my card for that challenge and it is also for one on StampTV to make a card using paper piecing and I have to tell you there is a LOT of piecing on this card. Nearly the whole image is pieced except for the chair, skin and floor, they were colored with copic markers. The papers are from Basic Grey's Bitterweet and Wassail paper packs, the card base is always artichoke. I used one of my new sets from My Favorite Things digital girl, love this set.

My sister and her family were here for the weekend and we all had a wonderful time, and I was able to let some of Theresa's mojo rub off on me as I now feel I can get back into making some good cards again. Thanks for stopping by.

I'd Pick You

Today's card is for last week's Friday Potluck challenge hosted by Joanne. For this challenge Joanne choose an inspiration, you can see it here. I picked up on the purple flowers on the cups and came up with this card. The base is lavender lace, pure luxury white and elegant eggplant are the mats. For the flowers I stamped and heat embossed them before coloring, then after coloring with memento markers I went over the images with a versamark pen and heat embossed again. next I sponged so saffron in the center and perfectly plum on the outer edges. The pearls were white but I colored them with a copic marker to make the a matching color to my card. I have to apologize for my poor photography skills, today is a dark and rainy day here and so my normal mediocre photo skills are much worse today due to poor lighting.
Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate Monochromatic

I so enjoy doing challenges and often challenges are what motivate me. This card is for the color challenge Carolyn King on StampTV. the challenge was to make a monochromatic card. What popped in my head at first thought was a black and white card. I love the dress from Rupa Shevde's set Retro Boutique from Gina K Designs. I stamped the dress twice on pure luxury card stock and then ran one through the cuttlebug with my swiss dots embossing folder, next I cut out the skirt part and layered it on the other dress. I hope you get some time to stamp today. Thank you for stopping by.

Tulips for a Friend

I made this card for a challenge on StampTV that Melanie posted. It was to use something that is not a stamp as a stamp. I used a coffee sleeve that looks like cardboard to stamp the background. Sorry for the poor photo it is late here and raining so the lighting is very bad for taking pictures. The colors are really rust, certainly celery, and very vanilla. Thank you for stopping by.
