Magic Mondays with Repeat Impressions

Hello I am so excited to share with you something new from Repeat Impressions.
Starting today and every Monday one of the design team members will share a special project or card with you on The Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built.  So without further ado....I have my project to share with you on our very first Project of the Week.  Many of you may already know that I love to make fall themed cards and 3D projects so I am leading off with a Fall themed gift box.
I started with THIS tutorial on SplitCoast Stampers for making a note card box.  As it turns out the finished box perfectly holds and whole bag of Ghiradelli chocolate squares.  I used Repeat Impressions Sunflower 4313-K It is a sunflower on s stem with leaves.  It is a great stamp.  However I wanted to show how you can use a stamp in different ways.  I started by stamping the entire image and coloring the flower and leaves three times.  I then cut out the flower and leaves.  I like to take a black marker and go along the cut edge so that the white doesn't show.  I then arranged my cut pieces on a small square of burlap with a little twine to create a focal point for the top of my box.  The band is a piece of 2" x 6 1/4' card stock that I ran through a crimper.  I used my trusty Scor Pal to create the folds for my box. I love my Scor Pal and it is used on 99.9% of the cards and projects I use.  Confession time: I have two of the 12 x 12 ones and a Scor Buddy. Here is a little tip: When using one sided patterned paper or paper with a white core lightly mist the paper with water before making your creases.  This will allow the paper to soften and thus not crack when folded.  And yes learned this the hard way.

Here are a couple more photos of the completed box.

Repeat Impressions Designers Choice Challenge~No Squares

Hello it is time for another Designer's Choice Challenge with Repeat Impressions.  This time Deonna is challenge is No Squares anywhere on the card.  I just received an new order from Repeat Impressions.  There was one stamp in the catalog I knew I had to have when I saw it.  So I had to use it for this challenge.  I didn't make a card instead I made a wall hanging for my craft room.
I used Just Hand Over... Isn't that stamp the greatest for us stampers?  I colored each letter with memento markers and stamped it on a little note pad and crumpled it and with some masking tape attached it to a round coaster that I had covered with some patterned paper.  To finish it off I sandwiched some twine between the coaster and a scalloped circle.  You can see more inspiration from my RI Rockstar team mates at The House That Stamps Built or on their blogs.

Stamp of the Week with Repeat Impressions~Wings Positive

The stamp of the week this week at Repeat Impressions is this wonderful sentiment stamp Wings Positive and it is available this week only for 50% off with the discount code found at Repeat Impressions blog.   Please visit the blog for all the details and to see the other Rock Star's cards using this stamp.  Wings Positive is a fun stamp.  Today I paired it with Love Much...
After cutting out the die cuts I left the card stock in the die and sponged with Memento teal zeal.  I added some glitter to the open wings with a Aytou Spica pen.  Unfortunately it didn't show correctly in the photo.  Sometimes I have trouble with solid images stamping completely which has lead me to find a way to save the image.  Here is my tip:Use a copic marker to fill in the incomplete areas.  The trick is not to use black or even a dark gray.  I like to use N3 or N5.  I have also used C3 and C5.  If you are careful it can save the image.  Isn't this a fun stamp?  There are so many possibilities it was hard to pick one for the sample.  Don't forget it is half off this week only!

This week is my week off over at The Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge, however the challenge is a good one and I worked it into this card as well.  The challenge this week is Monochromatic.  I hope you can join us and have a chance at winning some great images from our sponsors.

StampTV CSS Alumni Color Combo Blog Hop

Hello it is time for another StampTV CSS Alumni Blog Hop. For the hop Cheri challenged us to use yellow, white, gray and one other color.  Such a fun color challenge!  You should have arrived here from from the wonderful talented Cheri.  If you get lost along the way you can find the complete blog hop list on StampTV.  Here is my card.

I used Up and Away illustrated by Theresa Momber.  I have to say I love this set and it has been sitting on my craft table waiting so patiently for me to ink it up.  I colored all three balloons and totally messed up on the large one so I decided to paper piece it and hide my boo boo.  I then masked off the balloons and sponged in some clouds.  I didn't want them to be really noticeable and in the process you can hardly see them.  Well there you have it a card I messed up pretty bad and yet with some creative coverups it came out okay.  I will also be entering this into Just Us Girls sketch challenge.

Make sure to leave a comment as you go along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Look for the announcement on Tuesday, August 13.
Your last stop is the fabulously creative Betty.  Thank you for stopping by.

I started by sponging the background with Memento inks: Summer Sky, Bahama Blue, and Dunube Blue.  Then I stamped the Dandelions stamp three times in a row and teh sentiment with Stazon black.  The butterfly was stamped on a scrap piece of card stock colored with copics(B12, B16 and N3).  After cutting out the butterfly I popped it up with pop dots. The embossed frame was created with nestabilites card basics.

Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge~Water Element

Hello it is time for another Designer's Choice Challenge with Repeat Impressions.  It is Joy's turn to pick the challenge and she came up with using a water element.
I used Kayaker for my water element and added one of the trees from Hammock.  To get only one of the trees and not the hammock I masked off the area I didn't want to stamp and inked up the stamp, removed the mask and that left me with only one of the trees with ink.  Be sure to check out the rest of the team wonderful cards.
You can get all the details on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built.  Thank you for stopping by.
