This week the challenge for The Cuttlebug Spot is Totally Frightful: Scarry Halloween projects. I couldn't stop with only one project, I made two.
For my projects I made a luminary and a coffin complete with a skeleton. For the luminaary I cut a sheet of card stock in half on the one side. Next I scored at 1/2 and 4 1/2 inches on both pieces of paper. Then using nestabilites I cut out the opening for the shade. using a Tim Holtz embossing folder I embossed the spider web. So the web would show up on the black I used a tool I never am without, my finger!!! With my finger I lightly rubbed white ink on the raised parts. I stamped the images with stazon on vellum and taped in place. To finish I put tape on the 1/2 inch tabs and adhered to form a square. It is amazing how this looks with a tea light battery candle in it.
For the coffin I followed a pattern from Martha Stewart found here. I embossed the medallion for the top and matted with silver. The sides are embossed with the long small embossing folder meant for boarders. I robbed teh skeleton from a garland that I bought at Michael's. The embossing is highlighted the same way with white ink. Here are some more photos.
Make sure you stop by the rest of the design team and see what Frightful creations they have to share.
