CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to another Center Stage Alumni Blog Hop.  You should have arrived here from the beautiful Betty's blog.  Today we are using the photo below full of awesome cookies for our inspiration. 


I picked the number three for the cookie I was inspired by.  I love the crisp clean and fresh look of blue and yellow with some white.  It is a color combo that really speaks to me.  My first card took three tries to get it the way I have it envisioned.  

I started by stamping the daisies on white paper and then with a couple of masks I cut out I sponged the background.  Next I took a Sharpie Paint Pen to add the white dots.  When I decided that this one was a keeper I colored in the centers of the daisies.  On my first try I tried to use emboss resist.  The problem was that in Versamark pen was nearly dry and thus it didn't work very well.  So I cut those daises out to use as my masks.  On my second try I smudged blue ink on some of the flower petals.  Finally I was able to get it to work and with only a few tiny smudges I finished. 

My next card only took me about 15 minutes to make.  I had this small piece of daisy paper and knew I had to use if it for this challenge.

    I love daisies and with the blue and yellow, looks so bright and cheery! Great for the spring. Looking at the daisies, makes you want to smile and just changes your mentality from the long and cold winter we all had. I love the second card too withe the background daisies and the dress, brings back memories!

    Love the daisies, they're such friendly flower,

    thanks for sharing that you had to make this one three times as it didn't turn out the way you wanted the first time. I thought I was the only one who did things like that.

    I love the blue and white with the daisies! Both cards are very pretty! Like how you added the dots with Sharpie paint pen in the first one and the daisy paper is the perfect background in the second card.
