Purple Birthday Wishes

So yesterday I received an email from my friend Betty saying that Melanie had a challenge on her blog to make a card using the scraps that are laying around on your desk.  Now almost any other day of the year this would not be a problem for me as I tend to be a messy stamper, but I had cleaned my stamp room the night before!  What spurred me in to cleaning is that Theresa is coming over this weekend and we love to stamp together so I needed to make some room for her to work.  It is a good thing I almost never throw out any scraps that are of any size at all.  So I went through what I had and found this stamped image already completed so I just needed to make it into a card.  I did cheat just a little, the patterned paper is new, I just got my order with this new wonderful Basic Grey paper, Kioshi and I had to use it when I was working with purple!  I also worked in the sketch challenge on StampTV.  Thank you for stopping by.

How Beautiful a day....

I had the idea for this card a few days ago as I was drifting off to sleep and finally had time today to make it.  It is for the sketch challenge over on CPS and for Gina's Inspire challenge on StampTV.  I used one of my all time favorite stamps set from Gina k Designs A Year of Flowers.  I started off by making the floral arrangment and then cutting it out.  For the pink background piece I tried a new to me technique called Mother of Pearl.  Beate had a video a few days ago on how to do it and I was wanting to try it.  I wish you could see it better in the photo, but it was very difficult to photograph.  Thank you for stopping by.

Birthday Wishes

Boy is seems I haven't posted in forever, sorry I will try to be better this week.  I do have a few cards ready to post so hopefully I will get them posted soon.  For my card today I made it for a few challenges listed below.
It is hard to tell in the photo that I sponged the background around the flowers with memento new sprout.  I also tried something new to me, I colored some white grosgrain ribbon with a copic marker.  It is so fast and easy, I will be doing this technique again very soon.  It is a perfect way to coordinate your embellishments.  Thank you for stopping by.

Dream

Gina had a challenge last week on StampTV to go find something in our closet and then make a card or project with that found item.  When I went into my closet I found the usually extra buttons and some ribbons off of old clothes, but I wanted to do something a little different.  So I went deeper into my closet and found a plastic tub of yarn from my knitting days.  In the tub was this fabulous Fun Fur and I knew I had found my object.  So this is my card for Gina's whats in your closet challenge.  I also followed the sketch for There She Goes.  And finally I also made my own DP for the Try a New Technique (TLC264) challenge on SCS.  Thank you so much for all the comments and stopping by.

I am so ready for Spring!

Hello everyone, today I have a card that I made for a couple of challenges.  the first one is for Tina's color challenge on StampTV, to use wine, kraft and yellow.  I am just under the line on this one.  The other is for a somewhat new challenge blog called Oh, Alice!  They are on their fourth week of challenges and I have been meaning to play along since the beginning.  This week it is a sketch and I do love sketch challenges so I have to do it.  If you have the time check them out I think it will be a fun challenge each week.

On a personal note.  Our power company sent us out a letter a couple of weeks ago telling us that they needed to upgrade some equipment and that we should be prepared to be without power for about 22 hours!  I was not looking forward to this as no electricity means no computer (at least for more than couple of hours), and most importantly no lights!  Now I have to say that having no lights would not have bothered me much a few years ago before I became so completely hooked on stamping.  The weekends are when I am most able to stamp and with out light I can hardly stamp as my eyes have began to age rather quickly and I can hardly stamp without my OTT light.  The good news is that I did mange to stamp a little and my husband and I played games and eat Jiffy Pop popcorn.  My son works at a grocery store and he was telling me that he had several people come in and tell him they were staying at a local motel due the having no power, can you believe it!  Sadly though a house not to far from our house burnt down last night.  There sure were a lot of firetrucks and I didn't see any ambulances so I am thinking that everyone is okay.

Thank you for stopping by,

    Thank you Theresa!!

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted.  I have been sick, but I am starting to feel better so I hope to get back to sharing more regularly with you again.

I want to start off thanking Theresa for asking me to be her guest designer for Hang In There.  I think it is my favorite set of hers so far.  I love coloring the fabulous images and putting them into a card.  I did have to refrain myself from using some Basic Grey Origins again.  Those two go together so well.

So for my card tonight I worked in a couple of challenges.  One is Gina's diamonds are a girls best friend, to use diamonds in your design.  The next challenge is the sketch challenge for Just Us Girls.  Another challenge is for Cute Card Thursday challenge to use mainly green on your card.  For the last challenge I did the one for Copic Creations to use greens.  The card details are at the bottom of this post.  I have another card over on Theresa's blog.

    Thank you for stopping by.

    Life Happens

I have to say I am loving Theresa Momber's latest set Hang in There.  I am having so much fun with it.  The animals are so very well drawn and fun to color and put into a card.  Today Theresa is featuring Linda Payne on her blog.  Linda is Theresa's other guest designer with Hang in There.  When you are done here head over to Theresa's and Linda's blog to see what I am sure will be fabulous creations from Linda.

    Thank you for stopping by.

    Paper: fresh asparagus, chocolate kiss
Ink: memento tuxedo black, new sprout, bamboo leaves, summer sky

    Birthday Card

This is my last entry for a Guest Designer spot for Gina K Designs.  I also used the sketch on SCS.  I choose to use ocean mist and innocent pink for this card.  It works very well with this piece of paper from Basic Greys Lemonade. The sentiment is from Inside and Out, which is free this month with the purchase of three stamps sets. I colored the sateen flowers with copics and was excited to find that R20 and BG10 are a great match for innocent pink and ocean mist.

Make sure to stop back by later.  At 10:00 CMT I will be posting a card using Theresa Momber's newest set Hang in There.  Thank you for stopping by.
