Some Saturday Inspiration

Hello and happy Saturday.  Today is a special day in our house, my one and only child is turning 21 today.  Yikes how did he get that old so fast and how in the heck can I have a child that is 21 when I am only 36? LOL.  He is very much into anything western so I made this card for him on his special day.

I started off by using a post it to mask the skyline and sun, then I sponged the sky with memento cantaloupe, dandelion and tangelo.  For the desert sand I used tangelo and potter's clay.  Finally reversed the post it and very lightly sponged it with dandelion.  I used this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop.  Today the inspiration challenge on SCS was awesome and I picked this wonderful locket form Urbanrose. The stamps are from Mark's Finest Papers Southwest Cowboy.  Thank you for stopping by and have a super weekend.

Hello I hope you week is going well, as for me I am so glad that the weekend is getting near.  Theresa has a challenge on StampTV right now to case Cat.  I love Cat's style, what she can make with kraft card stock is amazing.  So I knew right away that I wanted to case this card.  I changed the sentiment, used gelatos instead of distressed inks, didn't add a medallion, brown layer and dragonfly.  This was my first go at geletos, and I have to say they were fun.  Look for more cards using them in the future.  I do need more colors though.  Have a super Thursday and thank you for stopping by.

Thanks

Hello I hope you have had a great weekend.  It has been busy as usual for me.  School is starting back up in a week and there is still much to do.  Oh well, it keeps me from being lazy I guess.  I checked out the featured stamper challenge last night just before I went to bed I this week it is the fabulous talented Korin.  I found this week it is the fabulous talented Korin.  I love Korin's sketches for Sweet Sunday and knew that I wanted to play along.  I found this sweet card and got started on it first thing this morning.  I changed the overall theme of the card, papers, stamps and omitted the stitching.  The stamps are from Hello Sunshine from Mark's Finest Papers.  I hope you have a super week and thank you for stopping by.

Southwest Cowboy

Hello I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday.  I have been busy again, dang I need to retire so I can stamp all day and then post here about it in the evenings.  On to my card, I made this for Speedy the Cat's challenge for Mark's Finest Papers.  This week the challenge is use distressing. Well, I distressed a bunch on this one. I have to say I am loving this Sothwest Cowboy set from Mark's Finest Papers, it is so wonderful for masculine cards plus my son is very much into anything western.  Plus it works so fabulously with kraft card stock another fav of mine.  I only wish that I hadn't waited so long to order it.  I will also be entering this card into The Spotted Chick's challenge this week to use kraft on your creation.  Thank you for stopping by.

Circle of Appreciation

Hello and Happy Friday!!!!  Time to explain my lack of posts over the last two weeks.  I have been on vacation and didn't want to post for the whole world to see that I was out of town.  I had a fabulous time and wish I didn't have to come home so soon.  I guess that makes it a good vacation then.  On to my card, I had the idea for this card since last weekend and now that I am home I was happy to get into my room and create it.  This is for this Speedy the Cats challenge this week for Mark's Finest Papers  to make a card that is anything but a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  The challenge closes in about an hour so I am just getting it post in time.  Mark's Finest Papers released some new stamps sets this week and I have to say that they are fab.  You can check them out here.  I am also entering this card into The Ribbon Carousal's challenge to get edgy.  Supplies to make this card are listed below.  Thank you for stopping by and have a super weekend.

A Happy Hello

Hello,  did you miss me?  I have been such a bad blogger.  In fact I haven't even been on the computer much. I have been enjoying spending time with my family.  This is a card I made for Suzanne's challenge for the release for Gina K Designs.  Suzanne's challenge is to make a card using paper only no embellishments like brads, pearls or ribbons.  Glitter, stickles and such are okay.  It is hard to believe how difficult is is make a card without any of the extras.  I was stumped for some time, but finally decided on going in more of a CAS direction.  I used some liquid pearls as the only addition.  The stamps are from Theresa's latest set from Gina K Designs called Heartfelt.  Thank you for stopping by.
