Nature's Postage

Today I have a card that I made for several challenges.  I used Nature's Postage from Mark Finest Papers.  I love this set.  For the first challenge I used Sketches by Carly. This was my first time playing along with Carly's sketches.  Next the challenge this week from Speedy The Cat is to use ivory and lace.    The final challenge is for Lily Pad Cards inspiration challenge.  For this challenge you are to pick something on their blog to use as an inspiration.  I choose the first card from the design team member Alice, posted in the challenge found here. I was inspired by the color orange in her card as well as the flower. Thank you for stopping by.

Challenge Cards

Last Thursday was the latest release from Gina K Designs.  Each month during the release party on StampTV there are a couple of challenges in which you have a chance to win a stamp set.  I always try to play along and these are my cards for the challenges.

First up is this card for Donna's challenge to make a one layer card with only one stamped image, one sentiment and one embellishment.  Boy this is a challenge for me as I love my layers.  I used Follow Your Dreams. The boat is colored with copics and the land and water area colored with prisma pencils.
My next card is for Giovana's challenge of black and white and no other colors. I also used the sketch from this weeks challenge at  Card Positioning Systems.
Thank you for stopping by.

Sending you Sunshine

Hello and Happy Memorial weekend to all in the US.  I have a super short post for you this morning as my DH is taking me out to breakfast ans is waiting ever so patiently on me to get this posted. A few weeks back O bought some sticky back canvas ATC's and couldn't wait to try coloring with copics on it.  It didn't come out as well as I had hoped, the copisc tend to bleed.  After coloring the daffodils I was stumped on how tomake it into a card.  So this image has been sitting on my craft table just waiting to be made into to something.  For some reason in the photo I noticed that the pearls don't look straight, I assure you that they are.  I managed to work in four challenges into this card which I have listed below.   One of the challenges is a shabby chic card, well this is not my style and I really struggle with it.  I am not so sure that this is very close at all, but it is what it is.  I hope you have a  fabulous weekend.  Thank you for stopping by.

Challenges
  1. StampTV: Shabby Chic
  2. SplitCoast Stampers: Inspiration Here what I used for my inspiration

Stars and Stripes

Hello I hope you are having a great week.  I made this card for a couple challenges.  First for Simon Says challenge stars and stripes.  Finally SCS ways to use it All Stars.  These challenges were so easy to combine.  I pulled out my dusty old colored pencils and I have decided I need to use them more.  I am totally in love with my copics, but it is nice to mix things up once in awhile.  I hope you have a wonderful and safe weekend and that yo get to spend time with the ones you love.  Thank you for stopping by.

Here Comes The Sun

Hello, sorry that I have been MIA again, I am still dealing with some family issues.  Hopefully things are on the up swing and I will get back to my normal life again soon.  I am currently without internet and have to go somewhere to get online. About two weeks ago I got my first order from Mark's Finest Papers, I love their stamps and I have to say that the shipping was pretty fast.  When I saw this weeks Speedy The Cat's challenge I knew right away what I wanted to make for it, it was just getting the time to make the card.   I am also having to work with very limited supplies and I didn't have any patterned paper or embossing folders, so I pulled out my ink and sponges and made some paper that would work.  As you already know I love to combine challenges so I used the sketch from MoJo Monday and LawnScaping's challenge to use polka dots.   I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by.

Have a Sweet Birthday

Hello, I can't believe that it has been over a week since my last post.  I will not go into the details, but I had some family things that needed my attention and just didn't' have the time to stamp or blog.  I think things are getting better so I hope to be able to get back in the swing of things.

I made this little card for the featured stamper challenge on SCS . Here is the card I cased.  The things I changed are: I used a different sentiment and image, went with bolder colors, added some bling  and I made mine a 4 1/4 square.  In addition I also worked in a few other challenges listed below.  Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week.

For Mom

Hello long time no post.  I have a case of missing mojo, so today I finally decided to give making a card a try and what better way than starting with a sketch from Mojo Monday?   I recieved my latest Gina K Designs order last weekend. This is my first card with Follow Your Dreams, Theresa Momber's newest set.  I love this set and dragonflies, so I had to use them first.  I colored them with copics and then gave the wings some shimmer with a Sakura gel pen.  The colors are so much better IRL.  For some reason I couldn't get the green and blue papers to photograph right.   Well, it is late and I have to get up early so I am cutting this post short.  Thank you for stopping by.

Challenges:
MoJo Monday: Sketch
Stamptacular Sunday: Use Mom or Mother
Mark's Finest Papers: Use a Hat Pin

Happy May Day

Last night as I was falling of to sleep I realized that today is May Day.  I remember when I was young making may flowers baskets to give to my mom on May Day.  That got me to thinking and I decided that today I would make a door hanger in honor of May Day.  I started with a drink coaster from Outback Steak House that I have had forever.  I covered the coaster with paper from Echo Park For the Record.  Next I inked the edges with always artichoke ink.  The sentiment is one I won a few weeks ago form Creative Vision, thank you Laura. As I was finishing up I decided that that this wasn't working the way I wanted for a door hanger and decided that I would make it a magnet instead.  Now as usual I am also entering this into a few challenges which I have listed below. I hope you have a fabulous week.  Thank you for stopping by.

Challenges
  1. Creative Clear Stamps: Altered Gifts
  2. Lets Ink It Up: Embellish It
  3. My Mums Craft Shop Challenges: Flowers
  4. Simon Says: Anything Goes
