Whatcha Gonna Do???

Hello and Happy Weekend!!!!

I am is such a good mood today as the weather is great here and I have all of next week off!!!  It has also been a good week around here as well.  I don't normally post personal stuff, but it is time for a proud momma moment.  My son graduated from the police academy this week.  He has wanted it for so long and with a lot of hard with and even more determination he has finished and is now looking for a job as a police officer.  Now don't get me wrong I am worried sick over him putting his life on line, however it is his passion and who needs sleep anyway.  Now as a card maker I had to make a special one for him and here it is.
I used Policeman from Kenny K for Whimsy Stamps.  When I saw this stamp I knew it was prefect for my son's card.  In fact I ordered it a few months ago so I had it when it was time. The sentiment is computer generated.   The handcuffs and caution tape are stickers from Michaels.  I am going to be entering this card into Kenny K's Krafty Krew's Anything Goes challenge this week.  I am also entering it into Simon Says Challenge which is also Anything Goes.  Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend and Easter!

StampTV CSS Alumni Blog Hop~ Simplicity Sparkles

Hello it is time for another StampTV CSS blog hop.  You should have arrived here from the incredibly talented and lovely Betty.  If you get lost along the way you can get the entire blog hop list of participants at StampTV.  This time the challenge is to create a clean and simple (CAS) card or project, use only embellishments that sparkle (glitter, rhinestones, etc.).

I picked Spoon Me from Rebecca Oehlers to work with and created this card.
I had so much fun with this card.  I tried to keep it simple and with the bowling ball I may have pushed it a bit.  I knew I wanted a bowling ball and s circle punched out of card stock just didn't get it for me.  So I started thinking about how a real ball looks and they are very often marbled.  Then I remembered Gina's shaving cream technique and tada I had what I needed to get the perfect bowling ball.  I did try to get a red one, however it kept coming out pink so black it is.  I also added three very small black punch pieces of card stock to create the finger holes.  Unfortunately they don't show in the photo.  Here is a close up.
Still using Spoon Me I created this fun card.

Okay your next stop is the fabulous creative and beautiful Cheri!!  Make sure to leave a comment as you go along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Look for the announcement on Tuesday, April 2.  Thank you for stopping by.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I have a quick card I made for a friend of my son how just happens to be in Ireland studying for a semester this year.  Lucky girl, how fun it would be to be there today!
I use a circle sentiment from Bugaboo Stamps called St. Patrick's TheodoreDue to this card being mailed form the United States to Ireland I decided to not add any embellishment.  That is harder than one would think.  Hmmm maybe an idea for a future challenge.  Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Spring

Hello I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  It is starting to feel like Spring may get here.  Can't be soon enough for me.  With Spring in mind I came up with this Spring themed card.

This adorable image is Ari and Toby, the sentiment is a bonus from Happy Spring both from StampArt  Design by Kathyrne  for Whimsy Stamps. In case you missed there is a new challenge over at Whimsy Inspires blog.  It is stitching this month real or faux. I added some stitching around the the edge, unfortunately it doesn't show very well in the photo.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello I am the last stop on this StampTV CSS Alumni Blog Hop! Hopefully you have arrived from the beautiful and incredibly talented  Betty's blog and seeing her beautiful card.  If not you can find the list of participants at StampTV.  This hop is an inspiration hop ( I love inspirations challenges).  Lori found this adorable Easter basket for our inspiration.
And here is what I came up with.

I had the idea for this treat cup/place holder awhile back and knew as soon as I saw the inspiration photo that now was the time to get my bum in gear and make it.  I use a few older sets to create it.  The basket is from Holiday Basket, the bunny and sentiment are from Square Pegs both from Melanie Muenchinger.  Here is a close up of the basket.

Below is a template showing how I made the box part of he basket.  For the handle I cut a strip of card stock 1/2" by 6 1/2"s long.  Thank you for stopping by.

Simple Thank You!

Hello I you are having a wonderful weekend.  I am happy to say that the weather here has been beautiful and it is finally starting to feel like Spring.  It has been nice enough for me to not be too upset with losing an hour today.  Anyway I do have a super quick card to share with you today.

For the longest time I have loved this style of card, yet I had never made one until today.  I am so please with how it came out.  It took me longer to pick the paper out than to make the card.  At any rate I am entering it into Flourishes March release color inspiration challenge.  The colors are light blue, medium blue and yellow.  Have a wonderful day and think you for stopping by.

Want to Fly A Kite?

Hello my crafty peeps!!  Remember me??  I don't know where this last week has gone.  I can't believe that I haven't posted anything in over a week.  Confession time,  I have been in a bit of a crafting slump.  I really hate it when it happens as I love to create, however lately honestly I haven't been in the mood.  One thing I know for sure it isn't due to lack of fun images to create with.  Whimsy Stamps has new digital images and I have one of my favorites from the March release to share today.

I used Want To Fly A Kite from Chrissy's Digi's.  This adorable little guy reminds me of my son when he was young.  Don't you just love him?  There are a ton of wonderful images this month so be sure to check them out HERE.  I will be entering this card into several challenges listed below.  Thank you for stopping by.
