You Make Me Smile

Don't you just love that song?  Anyhoo today I have a card I made for this weeks MOJO Monday sketch. I just love all of the beautiful sketches at Mojo Monday, but haven't had time to play lately so yesterday I decided to take the time to play.

I used Verves Blue Skies set, it is the only one of the sets I have and I love it.  The papers are Webster's papers and the beautiful ribbon is some silk ribbon I bought from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

I hope that those of you that are dealing with powerful storms or fires are safe.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot ~ Lace

Hello, it is time for another challenge from The Cuttlebug Spot.  This week the challenge is to use lace on your project.  I sometimes struggle with lace on my cards, it just never looks right to me.  As a result I tend not to use it very often, but on this card I really like how it added to this card.

The stamps are from Rubberneckers set Floral Silhouete.  I started by masking off the flowers on the stamp and then inked the leaves/branches with Memento Pistachio.  Next I removed the painters tape and with Memento Cantaloupe marker I inked the flowers.  Then I gave the stamp a good huff and stamped it.  After cutting out with Spellbinders Label One and before removing the die I lightly sponged with Pistachio ink.  I finished up by adding some small pearls to the center of the flowers.  I am also entering this card into the monthly challenge at Stamping Sisterhood, this month it is an inspiration piece.  The inspiration piece is a photo of graduation cupcakes.  I wanted something that could be used as a graduation card or a card of encouragement.   Make sure you stop by The Cuttlebug Spot to get the full details of the challenge and to see the gorgeous creations from my fellow DT members.  Thank you for stopping by and have a super week.

Lawn Ranger

Hello I have a card today that I made for my DH.  A few weeks ago my friend Patti J posted the most wonderful card she made using an Art Impressions stamp.  I know immediately that I had to have the stamp. Here is link to Patti's card.  Here is my first card using this great stamp.

Isn't he great? I started out by by coloring with copics, then I stamp the image on some scrap paper and cut it out to use as a mask so I could sponge in the grass and sky.  Before I removed the mask I stamped the fence.  I finished up by adding the #1 dad to the back of his shirt.  The sentiment normally reads "Happy Birthday to the Lawn Ranger"  I only wanted the it to say Lawn Ranger so I used a piece of masking tape to tape off the words I wanted then inked it up removed the tape and I stamped it.  I am entering this card into Art Impressions challenge to make a card for Husband/Father.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot~Father's Day

Hello it is time for another challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot.  The challenge this time is to make  Father's Day project and use different shades of blue.

As you may have noticed I didn't read the challenge very well and don't have much in the way of shades of blue, oops.  I used By The Sea from Gina K Designs.  I started by coloring the lighthouse and then masking if and sponging the background.  I finished up the main image by adding the seagulls.  It is hard to tell by this photo, but the buttons are a navy blue with a marbling of a lighter blue.  Thank you for stopping by.

Father's Day

Hello it is Monday so that must mean that is it is time for another challenge from The Outlawz Greeting Challenge.  This week the challenge is The Great Outdoors~Fathers Day/Boys.  I went with a Father's Day card as I need a few of them still.

The truck is from The Journey and the sentiment is from By The Sea both from Gina K Designs.  I colored the truck with copics and then sponged with a new memento color peanut brittle.  The diamond plate was created by using the embossed acrylic technique, which just happens to be the challenge of at Just Us Girls.  I am entering this card into their challenge. I started with kraft card stock and embossed with a diamond plate embossing folder.  Next I painted with a brown acrylic paint.  I finished off by sanding the raised parts.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

StampTV CSS Color Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another StampTV CSS blog Hop.  You should have arrived from the very talented Betty's blog.  If you get lost along the way you can get the complete blog hop list at StampTV.

This month Cheri is challenging us with a color challenge.  The colors are Purple, Pink, and Green plus neutral colors (white, ivory, black, and brown) are also fine to incorporate.  Don't you just love these fabulous colors, they are a great combo.

I used A Beautiful Life illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.  This is such a great stamp, as many you may already know I love to color and flowers and butterflies are my favorite. I kept it simple and only embellished with the butterflies and a few clear dew drops.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (June 12), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!  GOOD LUCK!

Your next stop is the incredibly talented Cheri.  Thank you for stopping by.
