Fall Birthday

Hello,  Today I have a card I made for a masculine birthday.  As that is it for a fall birthday I wanted to use more fall type colors.  I was a little stumped for an idea so I went way back in my SpiltCoast Stampers gallery and found a card I made for a female using Unity stamps and cased myself.  I had fun doing this and I think I will visit my stamping past more often when needing a little creative boost.  It is also a neat way to improve on a style or technique from the past.  I used two stamps sets from Gina K Designs The Best Flowers for the sentiment and Autumn Silhouettes for the leaves.  This color combo is one of my favorites.  As I was using them I realized they are have food names, hmm maybe there is a connection with my love of food.  The colors are cherry red, honey mustard and chocolate brown.  The card stock and inks are also Gina K Designs.  I also used the middle sized tag die from the latest kit from Gina.  The card base and tag are ivory which is also a favorite of mine for fall cards.

Christmas Tag

My first card using the new Sparkle and Shine kit from Gina K Designs.  This is a huge kit and has so many wonder stamps and dies.  This is for Gina K Designs monthly challenge to use a tag on a card and a color challenge of red and white.  The card stock is cherry red that I ink blended chocolate brown to give depth.  This is a trick I picked up from Mindy Eggen.  She has a great video Here.  I need to practice, but really love the look.

Color Blocking

A couple of cards I made for the October Challenge at Gina K Designs.  The challenge is color blocking which is not a technique I use much so I went a little different and used a stamp to make my color blocks, hopefully this still meets the challenge.  The block are stamps from Tiny Textures and the rest of the images are from Autumn Silhouettes.  Autumn Silhouettes is part of Gina K Designs October Kit which is available until Monday evening.  After that you can buy the set individually.  Inks used are also Gina K Designs, Jelly Bean Green, Sweet Corn, Sandy Beach and Sea Glass.  I am really loving this color combo.

Ghostly Garland

Greetings,

This is a Halloween garland I made using the latest kit from Gina K Designs, Festive Fall.  It was fairly simple to put this together.  I stamped and die cut my images.  While I was die cutting I cut a second shape out so I could create a sandwich for the black twine to run though.  I made the pompoms with a pompom maker.  I new tool in my craft room.

Snowman Tags

Hello,

I am back with a couple of Christmas tags (or they could be ornaments) I made for the Challenge over at Art Impressions.  Okay I have to confess I have a thing for snowmen and have a large collection of them that come out for the holidays.  I think I may have a snowman tree this year and these cuties would be a great addition.  After coloring them I cut out the image and three additional layers, two white and one blue.  I glued them together with some silver cord sandwiched in.  So easy and fun.  They are about as thick as a quarter and very sturdy.  The stamp set is one form a few years ago which was a collaboration with Hampton Arts.

Snowflake Cascade

Hello,

I am back with a couple of cards I made using the Simon Says Gina K Designs collaborated set from Simon Says Stamptember 2020, Snowflake Cascade.  I love this set and I am so happy to have been able to order it before it sold out.  I got to work on these two cards right away.  I didn't however get around to posting them until now.  The first card I white embossed the ornament image and the brushed blue inks to fade into to the image.  It doesn't show as well in the photo.  I used a sparkle gel pen to color in the inner part of the snowflake, added a few rhinestones and dots with a white gel pen.  On the second card I used the snowflake cascade embossed in silver.  I also brushed in some ink to fade toward the the center of the card. Both cards are matted with a thin black layer.  I used Master Layout Set 2 to cut out the layers.

Thank you Fall

I made this card for the Gina K Designs Monthly Mix Challenge.  To make a fall card.  I used Skeleton Leaves and Autumn Wreath Builder stamp sets.  The ink colors are Jelly Bean Green, Charcoal Brown and Sweet Mango.  I also used both of the master layouts die sets.  I have to say I love these dies and they are a game changer.

Reeling in the Big One

Hello, it has been a long time.  First off I want to say I am hoping to dust off this old blog and get back into posting regularly.  I recently retired after many years of long work days and I am trying to get my mojo back.

Now on to my card.  I made this for my sons birthday.  The stamps are from Art Impressions Reel Great Guys.  I colored the image with prisma pencils and blended with OMS.  The fish is fussy cut and popped up to give dimension.  I am entering this card in to Art Impressions current challenge, Quick and Simple.
