Friends are like flowers

This is a quick card I made for Cammie's challenge over on SCS in the Gina K Designs forum. The challenge is to use the same stamp for the main image and the background. I wanted a soft look to the background and unfortunately it didn't photograph well. I used memento markers to colors the stamp and then stamped three times to get my focal image. the background is stamped with lavender lace stamped off on scratch paper and then on the lavender lace paper. The card base is always artichoke. Thank you for stopping by.
No I didn't drop off the face of the Earth
Just a quick note to say that I haven't posted anything because my husband and I decided at the last minute to take a weekend trip. I went to she my mom and sister and go kayaking. We had a blast and got a little sun. I am home now and am planning on do a some stamping as there are several Gina K designs challenges and I love those. As soon as I have something I will post.
Also did you notice I added a signature and my template. What do you think?

Butterfly Friend
The color challenge this week on StampTV is to use four colors. This is not my normal type of card, and took me out of my comfort zone. The card base is always artichoke, the DP is from Basic Grey paper pack Marrakech on a mat of brilliant blue. The butterfly is from Gina K Designs set called Take Flight and the sentiment is from Botanical Dreams. I colored the butterfly with copics BG01 and BG05. Thank you for stopping by.

So Have you Heard the News?
I am so excited today. Today is the sneak peek for a new stamp set from Gina K Designs. And this one is designed by my sister Theresa. I am so proud and thrilled for her. I wish I could share a card with you made with her new set called Old West, but I don't even have one yet I am like all of you and have to wait until Thursday to order. There have been three other sets peeked today and yesterday, I am going to be so broke after this release. Gina's Design team has done a wonderful job, so if you have a minute check them out.

3D Treat Purse
This month Donna's 3D challenge on StampTV is to make a treat purse. I wanted to make one for May Day, I remember as a kid making May Day treats and flowers for my Mom and that is what inspired me on this project. The purse and matching note card are almost amethyst, the so saffron background is sponged on a cut out of Lable One nestabilities. The flower is from A Year of Flowers from Gina K Designs and illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger. I colored the gerber daisy with copics. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you had a great weekend and her is to a happy Monday.

Inspiring Birthday Wishes
Saturday's Inspiration challenge was posted early so I took a look and was instantly inspired. This is the candle I used for my inspiration. The stamps I used are elegant flowers and autumn whimsy both from Gina K Designs. The card base is old olive and the DP is retired Stampin' Up bali breeze. The mat is some silvery velumm from my stash. The ink and ribbon are always artichoke. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweetest Pieced Cupcake
Before I get to my card I just wanted to let you know that the voting has began for My Favorite Things Idol Judges contest. I didn't make the cut, but my sister Theresa did. So if you don't mind go on over to this thread and vote for your favorite.
Melanie's challenge on StampTV this week is Friday Pot Luck and it is to paper piece. I pieced the frosting on the cupcake. I used a sketch I found on Joanne Basile's blog. The paper is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection. Thanks for stopping by.
