A second look

I have been meaning to post this for a few days, but with being out of town I just never got to it. I had a few requests to see my triangle luminary on my holiday table. It is actually Theresa's table as that is where I was for Christmas.  I used three battery operated tealight candles which worked perfectly to give a great glow.

Theresa also gave me a little lesson in Photoshop so I am hopeful that my photos will be looking a bit better in the future.  I hope to have something new to show you tomorrow, if I can dig myself out of this mess that is in my room at the moment.  Thank you for stopping by.

Life is Good

Gina is having a customer blog hop for the December release.  With Christmas I didn't get time to make a card until today.  I used Theresa's set Life is Good, it is a wonderful set with a lot of possibilities.  I decided to make a CAS masculine card.  I stamped the trees in the background by stamping off one time giving the scene depth.  I finished up by sponging the edges and then layering with chocolate kiss and pumpkin spice.  The designer paper is from DCWV.  Thank you for stopping by.

Christmas Shaker Tag

I am over the moon excited to share with you that I am the Guest Designer for Belli Blog.  I love their  challenges and to be ask was such an honor, thank you Robin.   The challenge this week is to make a tag Belli Challenge #81Cretive Belli is a great blog that is full of wonderful inspiration. So check them out and give the challenge a try.  They also have a design team call going right now.

For my I choose to make a shaker tag that could also be used as an ornament.  I used the largest circle and scallop nestabilities I had to make the frame.  The snow is made by rubbing styrofoam together and then I added a sprinkle of glitter to help it sparkle. It is a fun little tag that would work well for a child's gift.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a Happy Holiday.

Life is Good Blog Hop

Today I am sharing some cards made with Theresa's newest stamp set Life Is Good.  This is such an awesome set that can be used to make more detailed cards or CAS cards.  I have made one detailed card and two CAS cards to show you.

As soon as I saw the train in this set I knew I wanted to make a card based on The Polar Express.  I started by stamping and coloring the train.  I then masked it off and sponged the sky.  I followed that sponging the light beam.  Next I stamped a couple of branches, added a few snow drifts and dotted the sky with a white gel pen for the snowflakes/stars.  To make the ticket I cut a rectangle stamped the sentiment and used a small circle punch it give it the look of a ticket.  I didn't want to take away form the scene I had created so I kept is simple and matted it on a rich layer of gold with a base of brilliant blue.

This card only took me about ten minutes to make.  I stamped the train in chocolate chip then cut it out using a oval nestabilities.  Before removing the image from the die I sponged with close to cocoa.  I finsihed by matting with soft sand.  The gorgeous designer paper is Comso Cricket Earth Love.

For my last card I stamped the sentiment and the cattails in chocolate chip and sponged with chocolate chip, close to cocoa and creamy caramel. I use some more of Cosmo Crickets Earth Love and layered with Green Apple and Chocolate Kiss. This card took me about five minutes.  Both of the CAS cards have no embellishments, which may be a first for me!

Sweet Christmas Treat

Hello my posts this week are very short, but at least I am getting my projects up.  After this week things will slow down for me, and hopefully I will have some sweet down time.

Today I am showing you a sour cream container I made for Carolina's anything but a card challenge this week on StampTV.  I was inspired by Carolina's sample and had to get right to this one.  I started with pure luxury white and clear embossed the snowflakes.  Next I sponged with bashful blue over the whole thing.  Then it was just a matter of taping it together and filling with candies.  Normally I would have used a crimper to seal the ends, but I can not find it so I used my scorpal to score a couple of lines, it worked great.   The whole thing only took me about 15 minutes.

Make sure you come back later night I have a card for Theresa's Life is Good blog hop.
Thank you for stopping by.

Last week Selma ask if I would make a sample card for her Blast from the Past challenge on StampTV.  I said yes of course.  Selma is a super talented stamper and I really enjoy challenges.  Blast from the Past is a weekly challenge that is posted every Friday on StampTV in which Selma picks a challenge from the videos that Gina has done, each on featuring a different technique.  This week Selma choose was Partial Cuttlebug Embossing. Putting on the Glitz

Here is another one of my multi challenge cards for Pile It On.  This is a digital image from Soft Pencil.  I started off coloring with copics, then I masked off the whole image and sponged with bashful blue.  Next I completely assembled the card even the snowflakes.  The last step was to add stickles for the tree ornaments and falling snow.  I used my Quickie glue pen on the snowflakes and the angels wings before giving them a good dusting of glitter.  I wish that the photo showed the glitter better, it really sparkles.  The paper is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey.  All of the challenges and cards details are listed below.

I am sorry that I have been such a bad blogger this week.  Work has been especially difficult and has zapped my creativity. That is behind me now so I am back to making cards and I have a bunch of more challenges I want to do. Flaky Friends

Here is my card for Pile it ON this week.  The challenge this week is to use rub ons and work in at least on other challenge.  There is very little stamping, only the sentiment.  the adorable snowmen and snowflakes are rub ons from Royalo Langnickle.  I managed to work in a total of 7 challenges on of is Jessica's sketch on StampTV.  All of the challenges are listed below.  For the background behind the snowmen I started with some pure luxury white and sponged with bashful blue using a mask made from a torn piece of scratch paper.  I didn't have any blue brads that would work so I colored white ones with a copic marker (B23) and then covered them with waterfall stickles. To speed up the drying time I held each brad with a pair of tweezers and the hit them with my heat gun.  Thank you for stopping by.
