Designer's Choice Challenge with Repeat Impressions

Hello, it is time for another Designer's Choice Challenge.  This week Melissa's challenge it Celebrate Birthdays.  Great challenge Melissa.
I used #9706 Flowers and #1113 Happy Birthday for my card.

Before I send you over to The House That Stamps Built I have a little announcement.  It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to step down as a Rock Star for Repeat Impressions.  Wendy is wonderful to work with and I hope to return someday.  At this time in my life I find myself struggling with creativity and the time to create.  It took many months for me to come to this point as I love being with Repeat Impressions so much.  The entire team is wonderful, talented and so kind.   I would like to thank Wendy for her support, belief in me as a stamper and for being the best stamp owner.  To my fellow Rock Stars I will miss you and value your friendship more than you know.  I will still be making cards and posting here on my blog, but am going to go with my mood and create when I want or can and the rest of the time I plan on spending with my family.  That is when I am not working every daylight hour.  Finally thank you to all of my cherished readers, you are the reason I love card making so much.  I find great joy in sharing with you the cards I make.  You lovely comments mean so much!  Oh and you are going to LOVE my replacement!  She is a extremly talented crafter and a wonderful lady.  Wendy will be announcing her soon.  Okay back to our regular scheduled programing, LOL.

Now head over to The House That Stamps Built and get all the details of the challenge.  I hope you can join us in this challenge for a chance to win some fabulous stamps.  Don't forget to check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the RI Rock Stars.

You're How Old?

Hello, today I have a card I made for Art Impressions challenge "Show off your Sentiment".
I used How Old.
I wanted to come up with two different cards using the same set and almost the same color scheme.  This one is my favorite of the two.

Thank you for stopping by.

How Old? Part 2

My second card for Art Impressions "Show off your Sentiment" Challenge.  For this card I really went out of my comfort zone and came up with this.

I cut the open circles which left the solid circles and so I played around with the layout until I had something I thought would work. I am not sure how I feel about this card.  At least I tried something new.

What If? Wednesdays with Repeat Impressions

Hello it is time for another sketch with Repeat Impressions.  Wendy has another great sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I used #1320 Spring Blossoms.   I love these pretty flowers and enjoy coloring them.  I left the card fairly simple so that the flowers could shine.

Be sure to head over to The House That Stamps Built to get all the details of the challenge and don't forget  there is a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate. Check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the RI Rock Stars.

Keep Calm and Float On

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  I have another card for Art Impressions challenge Like an EmBOSS~ wet or dry embossing.
http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-summer/
For this card I used Stayin' Afloat set from the Girlfriends collection from Art Impressions.  I used copics to color the fun ladies enjoying a nice lazy trip down and gently flowing river while sipping on a nice cold beverage.  The water was create with copics and the sky was sponged with memento ink and a hand made cloud template.  I decided to use both wet and dry embossing this time.  The sentiment is wet and the yellow panel is dry embossed with a very old Cuttlebug folder.  I am also entering this into Simon Says Stamps challenge~Summer.

Thank you for stopping by.

Designers Choice Challenge with Repeat Impressions

Hello it is time for another Designers Choice challenge.  This week Joyce picked Blues for the challenge.
I uses #9408 Friendship Quilt Square and #1143 Thank You.  To create the panel I stamped the quilt square three times and colored it with copic markers.  I then over lapped the squares to give it the look of one image.  I then adhered it wot some navy card stock and free hand cut the navy layer.  If you look closely you will see that it isn't perfect.  I stamped the sentiment right on the patterned paper.

Now head over to The House That Stamps Built and get all the details of the challenge.  I hope you can join us in this challenge for a chance to win some fabulous stamps.  Don't forget to check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the RI Rock Stars.

What If? Weddnesdays with Repeat Impressions

Hello it is time for another sketch with Repeat Impressions.  Wendy has another great sketch.
I flipped the sketch.
I used #9017 Summer Clothesline and #9717 Happy Hello.  After coloring the image I sponged litghtly with blue ink to create the sky.  I have a small confession to make.  The sentiment is placed there because I messed up with the blue ink and I need to cover it up.

Be sure to head over to The House That Stamps Built to get all the details of the challenge and don't forget  there is a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate. Check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the RI Rock Stars.

Country Sunset

Hello today I have a card I made for Art Impressions challenge, Like EmBoss Wet or Dry Embossing.  I used a stamp called Country Fence to create this sunset scene.  After stamping the image I used a post it note to create a mask for the sunset.  Then sponged with yellow and orange inks.  The grass is also sponged.  The only coloring I did is on the fence and grass at the post.  It isn't showing very well in the photo, but the the dark orange panel is embossed with at Tim Holtz embossing folder called Bricked.

Thank you for stopping by.

Project of the Week~ Scored Background

Hello it is my turn with a Project of the Week for Repeat Impressions.
  ~Scored Background~
I used #9009-F, Butterfly (sm) and #9004-E, All Your Dreams on this card.

Instructions for to make this card.  I apologize for the shadows in the photos.  I am an amateur and no matter how I positioned I couldn't get any photos without shadows.

The only special tool you will need for this project is a score board.  I used a Scor Buddy, I love this little board. :)

  1. Start with a 4 x 5 piece of card stock. Starting with opposite corners score the first line from one corner to the next.  Without moving the paper score every 1/2 inch working your way to the outer edge.  (You may find it helpful to mark the score line with a marker on your Scor Buddy.  This will help when you have to move the paper.)
  2. When you have half of the paper scored turn the paper 180° and repeat step 1.
  3. Next start at the opposite corner than in step 1.  Repeat the scoring process in steps 1 and 2.
  4. This is what your paper should look like.
**Bonus Tip**
     5. When cutting out a butterfly it is difficult to cut the antennae so I ink the antennae part of the image and stamp where I want the butterfly to go.  This way you can easily cut out the butterfly without having to bother with the delicate antennae.

When scoring your own background you can get many different patterns by changing up the direction you scoring.  I have seen some awesome brick backgrounds.

I hope you give this fun background a try.
