Kraftin' Kimmie Sketch #66

Today I have a card I made for Kraftin' Kimmies Stamps sketch challenge. A month ago on StampTV Gina did a video showing how to use nestabilities fancy tags to make a fancy border, well I loved the idea and have been meaning to give it a try every since.  It is very easy and wow what a wonderful mat it makes.  I will be doing more of these. At the beginning of making this card I planned on sewing on it.  That was the plan anyway and as it was coming together it must have slipped my mind and when I was editing the photo I realized that I had forgot, dang it is tough getting older and forgetting things.  I will be back Friday evening with a card I have yet to make for a CSS Alumni blog hop.  Thank you for stopping by.

Card Details
Stamps: Oliver-Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
Paper: Basic Grey DP, SU ballet blue
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, summer sky
Other: nestabilities, fibers, mini snowflakes, brads, cuttlebug embossing folder-snowflakes

Happy Birthday

Here is a card I made for today's sketch challenge on Spiltcoast Stampers.  In addition to the sketch I also used the color challenge for Just Us Girls, aqua, melon and kraft.  I didn't have a true melon so I used what I had that was closest.  Also I am entering it into the challenge for A Spoon Full of Sugar to make a card with a theme of birthday wishes.  Finally I am entering this card into the challenge for Really Reasonable Ribbon Ramblings to use a spring theme with ribbon, lace or trim.  As you can see there is very little stamping on this card, in fact only the sentiment is stamped.  That made this a quite card to put together as well as I was able to use some of my many prima flowers.  My lovely DH is waiting on me so I need to get going.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot - Pop Up

This week at The Cuttlebug Spot the challenge is to make a pop up card.  I choose a bit of a different type of pop up card.  This type is called a Surprise Pop Up Card, and you can find a great tutorial from the Fabulously Talented Beate HERE on Splitcost Stampers.

This is the front of the card.

And if you pull the tag on the top this is what you see.

This is a very cool card to make.  I know I say this every week, but I had fun making it.  The adorable image is a Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things.  The dp is Basic Grey Jovial.  I added stickles to the snowflakes.  I hope you can play along this week.

Make sure and check out the challenge as well as the gorgeous projects from my fellow Design Team members on The Cuttlebug Spot.

I am also entering this card into some challenges this week first for Stampin' Sisters in Christ.  Their challenge is to use green.  And finally for Desert Islands Crafts Challenge.  Their challenge it to use at least three items from their itinerary.  My items are monochromatic, border punch,  only one patterned paper, no flowers, sparkle.  I also slipped in  a tiny bit of red which was one of the items as well.

 Thank you for stopping by.

Card Details
Stamps: Flurry of Love-My Favorite Things
Paper: pure luxury, basic grey jovial

Happy Birthday Sketch

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and are lucky enough to get an extra day off.  I made this card for the sketch challenge on StampTV for the release.  Suzanne came up with a fab sketch and I had a lot of fun with it.
I also worked in the challenge from Crazy 4 Challenges, to use die cuts to make your card.  And Stampin' Royalty's challenge to use markers.  The stamps are from Gina K Designs set Floral Wreath.  the dp is from Basic Grey Curio. Sorry that I don't have the copics I used on this one as they got mixed up in the mess I made while creating this card.  Thank you for stopping by.

One Layer, No Ribbon!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  I am so happy as I most of next week off from work.  What I do have to do I can do on my schedule which is always nice.   So on to my card I have to show you today.  This is my first time playing along with the challenge for Stamping Sisters in ChristPatti J was the hostesses of this challenge to make a one layer card.  That is something I almost never do, but I wanted to give it a try after I came up with the idea for it.  I have to confess that I did have a bunch of trouble masking off the rectangle so I could sponge in the background, but after several tries I did it.  I am also entering this into Theresa's challenge for the release party for Gina K Designs.  Theresa's challenge to make a card using twine, cord, fibers etc., but no ribbons.  No ribbon can you believe that!  When I was just finishing up my card my DH came by.  Well, at that moment I had a navy fiber tied on the card and didn't really care for the way it looked.  My DH noticed that I was thinking about it and ask what was wrong, then he said why don't you use the white?  Duh, why didn't I think of that!!  There may be no living with him now, yikes!  I used two of Theresa's stamp sets for this card.  I used the tree from Fanciful Fall and the sentiment from The Giving Tree.  Thank you for stopping by.

Kraftin Kimmie Recipe Challenge

Super fast post tonight as I should have been in bed an hour ago and will pay for it tomorrow.  I made this for the recipe challenge for Kraftin Kimmie.  The recipe is three main colors, two patterned papers, one ribbon and one button.  I seem to be in the mood for green this week, maybe because I finally tired of red and pink from Valentines day cards.  My three colors are the light green base, black and medium tone green mats.  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Origins.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Design Divas Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop

Hello today is the third Wednesday and that means it is time for a Design Diva Hop.  What is a Design Diva  you say, well it is a group of stampers on facebook.  The theme of the hop is always the same,  we are use "Oldies but, Goodies". Pulling stamps, papers, tools, embellishments, etc. anything that's at least 6 mos. or older to make a card, SB layout, paper project, etc.  I love this as I tend to use my new stuff and forget about the old stuff.

I am your first stop on the hop today, if you get lost along the way I have the complete list at the bottom of this post.  On to my card.

I used a stamp that I have had around for too long with out showing it some inky lovin'.  It is from a set from Unity called Shine On!  In fact I think everything on this card is at least six months old,  yikes!  Oh except for the pearls I bought those on Sunday.  I also used this weeks sketch from Mojo Monday, I loved this one.
Now it is time to head over to one of my dear stamping friends (who happens to be one very talented lady) Linda Payne.  Happy hopping and thank you for stopping by today.

It is party time on The Outlawz.  Check out all the details HERE.

The Cuttlebug Spot - Gate Fold

It is time for another challenge from The Cuttlebug Spot.  This week the challenge is to make a gate fold card.  I don't make many gate folds so it was nice to revisit them.

I used a new to me stamp from The Greeting Farm called Cheeky Rockabilly.  I love this sassy gal.  I knew right away that I wanted to make an Irish lass. I had never colored  auburn hair before and I like how it came out.
Here is a close up.
 I even finished the inside.

I hope you can play along this week.  Now check out the rest of the Design Team, they have some gorgeous eye candy for you.  You can find the list on the right side of my blog or at The Cuttlebug Spot.

I will be back on Wednesday morning with a card for The Design Divas "Oldies but Goodies" blog hop.

Thank you for stopping by.

I Love You Forever

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day.  I am not much for the one day of love, but more of a little things done through out the year type of gal.  My Dh and I had a nice dinner last night and that is just the way I like it. I always ask him not to get me flowers as even though I love flowers I don't feel the need to get them just because it is Valentines Day.  I made this card for a bunch of challenges all theme about love/Valentines in some way, I have them listed at the bottom of this post.  I used Where Your Heart Is from Gina K Designs and illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.

I will be back in the morning with a card I made for this weeks challenge on The Cuttlebug Spot.  I really love how my card came out.  I hope you can stop back by to see it.  Thank you for stopping by.

Lady in Red

Happy Friday!!  Are you as happy as I am that the weekend is here?  For my card today I used the sketch from Mojo Monday.  This was a super fun sketch.  Then this week the challenge for Kraftin' Kimmie is Seeing Red, oh I have been on a red kick of late so I knew I wanted to do this one. I am also entering this in Stamp Something's challenge this week, Something for your Valentine.  Finally a new challenge for me is for The Spotted Chick, to use kraft on you project.  I have been following The Spotted Chick for awhile and wanted to join in on some of the challenges.  I have been trying harder to get myself more organized so I can do more challenges.  So I colored this wonderful little wench with copics.  I tried a new to me technique on the hair were you flick from the darkest area to the lightest.  I think I need to try a different paper as I had some trouble with the ink almost puddling on top of the paper.  I see a trip to my LSS tomorrow to get some different paper.  The dp is Basic Grey's Oliver collection.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  For me I am planning on stamping as much as possible.  Thank you for stopping by.

I am squeezing in this card just under the wire.  The challenge ends in less than an hour.  I made it first for the sketch challenge on Just Us Girls.  I do love playing along with their challenges.   As the title says this is for many challenges so here are the rest....Marks Finest Papers self made flowers,  Joan's Garden recipe challenge, and finally Let's Ink It Up to make a romance/Valentines card.  The gorgeous dp is from Echo Park.  I wish that I could have gotten a better photo of this card as it looks so much better in person.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot - Step Cards

It is time for another challenge for The Cuttlebug Spot.  This week the challenge is to make a step card.  This is a new one for me.  I have seen so many beautiful ones around, but had never tried it myself.  This is a fun card to  make, but I wasn't all that happy with my card.  So today after work I re -worked it until I was happy.

Here is the first version.

Over all it is not a bad card, but for me it seemed like it was quite right

Here is the new version.

I used Theresa's latest set from Gina K Designs called Dino-Mite.  I hope you will stop by The Cuttlebug Spot and play along this week.  While you are there check out the rest of the Design Teams wonderful creations or you can go straight to their blogs, the link list is over on the right.  Thank you for stopping by.

The Cuttlebug Spot - Trifold Valentines

This week the challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot is to make a Valentine card that is a trifold.  This was a great one as I get stuck in a rut making the traditional card so it was a nice reminder that they don't all have to be traditional.

I used a new to me folder called candy cane stripe.  I tried to get the folder during the holidays, but unable to find it in stock anywhere.  Of course as soon as the holidays were over I was able to find it.  I think it is one that can be used year round even if it has a Chistmasy name.

I hope you can play along.  Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT and see their gorgeous creations over at The Cuttlebug Spot.  Thank you for stopping by.
